Infections and Antibiotic Use
Antimicrobial resistance poses an increasing problem to public health – also in Denmark. It is a well-known fact that the use of antibiotics drives the selection of resistant bacteria. General practice is responsible for the far majority of antibiotic usage in humans (70%).
The research group works with projects focusing on optimising diagnostics and treatment of some of the most frequent infections treated in general practice, such as acute respiratory and urinary tract infections. The group has several international collaborators.
