Ultrasonography

Clinical ultrasound or point-of-care ultrasound is increasingly being used by general practitioners. In the Ultrasound Group, we are working hard to build a foundation of knowledge about the use of ultrasound in general practice.

In both education and research, we focus on quality assurance and implementation. We are involved in local, national and international projects and are open to interdisciplinary and multisectoral collaboration.

We are currently working hard on implementing a large-scale project. The project is based on the General Practice Agreement 2022 (Overenskomst om Almen Praksis 2022) and will identify situations and procedures in which ultrasound is particularly suitable as a support tool in general practice. The aim is to contribute to improved diagnostics, timely referrals and improved quality of treatment decisions. The project spans three years and involves 250 general practitioners, evenly distributed across the regions of Denmark, who will receive training in the use of ultrasound.
